Kris Tompkins

Kris Tompkins is founder and President of Conservación Patagonica and the former CEO of the Patagonia clothing company. She has lived in South America for more than a decade, working full-time on conservation projects. She is a board member of the Conservation Land Trust, through which she and her spouse, Doug Tompkins, have preserved more than two million acres and helped create multiple new national parks in Chile and Argentina. Working with Argentine conservationists, she spearheaded and funded the land purchase and donation of a former sheep ranch to become Monte León National Park, Argentina's first coastal national park in Patagonia. She is currently working to establish the future Patagonia National Park in the Chacabuco Valley of southern Chile.
