Peter Benchley

Peter Benchley was an American author who wrote the celebrated 1974 novel Jaws and later co-wrote the screenplay for the film. The novel Jaws stayed on the bestseller list for 44 weeks. Benchley went on to write more novels and their subsequent film adaptations, like The Deep, The Island, and Creature. Benchley passed away in 2006, but his legacy lives on.
