In New York, the Senate Environmental Conservation Committee will vote on Tuesday morning on the state's proposed shark fin ban.  Passage through this committee is critical.

For the sake of the tens of millions of sharks that are slaughtered every year to make shark fin soup and for the sake of the millions of people worldwide who rely upon the health of our oceans, please lend your support!

If you live in New York:

1) Use this handy tool to find out who your state senator is.

2) Call him or her.  Whether someone answers or its a voicemail, tell them your name, your zip code, and that you support S.6431

3) Sign our Shark Pledge, which calls upon global leaders to act now to protect our sharks and preserve the health of our oceans.

4) Share this with your family and friends. Use Twitter, Facebook, or whatever platform you have, to spread the word.

If you live elsewhere in the world:

Similar bills have already passed in the Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, and California - let's add New York to this list.
