Alex Hofford

Campaign Manager, Hong Kong

Alex Hofford is a conservation photojournalist based in Hong Kong, where he has lived for over a decade, using the city as a base to cover conservation stories in Greater China. 

Since arriving in Hong Kong in 1998, Alex has carried out hundreds of editorial assignments across the region, having worked mainly in Asia, but also in the Middle East and Africa. During this time, Alex has built up a large stock library of wildlife and marine conservation images. Much of Alex’s work focuses on environmental issues. He has taken on numerous assignments in the Pacific Ocean and Asian region for Greenpeace, covering the problems of the nuclear industry, marine pollution, shark finning, whaling and over-fishing. 

Alex is currently working on getting an ivory campaign off the ground in Hong Kong. He is also the regional representative in Hong Kong for the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA). He was born and raised in Cambridge, UK, and educated in London.
