Douglas Steakley is a widely recognized photographer from Carmel Valley, California. Photographs by Douglas Steakley have received awards in many photography competitions including those sponsored by National Geographic, National Geographic Traveler, Petersen’s Photographic magazine and The National Park Service. In 2008, Doug was the Grand Prize Winner of a photography contest co-sponsored by National Geographic Magazine and Energizer batteries--a two week safari for two in Tanzania. His images have been published in many local, national and international magazines including Architectural Digest, Backpacker, Outside, Better Homes and Gardens, Art And Antiques, Private Pilot, Luxury Living, The Robb Report, Town and Country, Runner;s World and Elite Traveler.
