Richard Wrangham

Richard Wrangham is the Ruth Moore Professor of Anthropology at Harvard University and President-elect of the International Primatological Society. His major interests are the relationship between ape and human behavioral evolution, and the conservation of chimpanzees and other apes. He has directed the Kibale Chimpanzee Project in Kibale National Park, Uganda, since 1987. He has authored over 150 publications, including (with Dale Peterson) Demonic Males: Apes and the Origins of Human Violence. He is co-Chair, with Toshisada Nishida, of the Great Apes World Heritage Species Project.
